‘Girl Meets World’ Season 4 Would’ve Focused On Riley, Maya And Others’ ‘Deep Friendship’
“Girl Meets World” Season 4 may not have been renewed by Disney Channel, but creator Michael Jacobs recently shared that he and his team already had a plan for the upcoming episodes.
After Jacobs confirmed that “Girl Meets World” Season 4 has not been picked up by another network, he lived up to his promise to reveal what the upcoming season would’ve been all about. On his Twitter account, Jacobs said that the episodes would have focused on Riley (Rowan Blanchard), Maya (Sabrina Carpenter), Farkle (Corey Fogelmanis), Lucas (Peyton Meyer ) and Zay’s (Amir Mitchell-Townes) “deep friendship.” More specifically, Jacobs said that the bond of the five characters would’ve served as a guide in how they could face the world.

Jacobs also stressed the importance of love and respect in sustaining all sorts of relationships. The creator also used Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) as an example of characters that started off as friends and ended up as lovers because they respected each other. Towards the end of his post, Jacobs wished all of the fans of “Girl Meets World” “friendship, love and respect.”
Meanwhile, Jacobs also revealed to the thousands of fans that Auggie (August Maturo) and Ava’s (Ava Kolker) bond would’ve also been a focus for Season 4 had it been renewed. But in the end, the creator said goodbye to the franchise that he started 24 years ago with the original sitcom, “Boy Meets World.” “All of us at ‘Boy Meets World’ and ‘GMW’ have loved bringing you these stories. We hope we have taught you to dream, try and do good. Class dismissed,” he wrote.
“Girl Meets World” aired its final episode in January, and it featured majority of the original cast members from “Boy Meets World.” Fittingly titled “Girl Meets Goodbye,” Topanga made a tough decision about her future, as well as the lives of her family members. The matriarch received a job offer in London, but accepting it would’ve meant leaving their town behind. In the end, she and the entire Matthews clan decided to stay back home.
Following the cancellation, Jacobs told TV Line that it’s possible “Girl Meets World” Season 4 will be released on a different network. “There are talks underway, but we’re at the very very beginning stages. And I can tell you it’s because of the audience’s reaction to the cancellation that there is interest in other places. For anyone in show business, if you ask them why they’re doing something and they say they’re doing it for themselves, they won’t sustain long. Those that answer, ‘We’re doing it for the audience’ and mean it, they sustain,” he said.
At that time, Jacobs attributed outside interest to the fans’ paper airplane campaign. Fans of “Girl Meets World” made three small paper airplanes and placed them inside a small envelope. One of the airplanes was sent to Netflix, the other one was sent to Hulu, and the third one was mailed to Disney Channel This was the fans’ way to urge all three avenues to pick up “Girl Meets World” Season 4.
