Girls’ Generation’s member Taeyeon recently held a live broadcast on Instagram to express her feelings and talk about her experiences during the coronavirus pandemic.
On Friday, Kim Tae-yeon, who is popularly known as Taeyeon, held a live broadcast to talk to her fans about the impact of COVID-19 on people’s daily lives and careers. She also stressed on the importance of following social guidelines.
"I’ve started a live broadcast to talk with those who have been diligently practicing social distancing," she said
"COVID-19 has gotten so serious that I think the [current Level 2] social distancing rules have become Level 2.5 distancing. I don’t think we’re at Level 3 yet, but I honestly think we should consider them the same thing," she added while emphasizing on the importance of social distancing.
She also stated that many people are still falling sick due to the pandemic as the situation isn't improving, according to Soompi.
"This [pandemic] isn’t getting any better, and it’s such a serious matter. There are so many people who are sick. Isn’t this affecting our daily lives? I think we’re beginning to fall apart. So I really hope everyone practices social distancing," she mentioned.
The 31-year-old singer also voiced out her frustrations and annoyance at not being able to do much due to the current situation in the world.
"I think that as the COVID-19 pandemic worsens, we have less and less that we can do. Isn’t that really annoying?" she added.
She also talked to fans about what she’s been up to these days and added that she’s been spending time watching drama series and movies at home. She has also been making bracelets and playing with her beloved dog, Zero.
"Honestly, aren’t we all the same? We practice social distancing, we’re bored at home, we can feel lethargic, and we miss being with people. In a world that is already lonely without the COVID-19 pandemic, now we have to socially distance," she continued.
Taeyeon was unable to hold concerts this year as they all had to were all canceled due to COVID-19. The singer revealed her thoughts and expressed her bitterness for not being able to meet up with her fans as often.
"People may think that staying at home is nice for me since I’m a homebody, but above all, I’m a singer, so I also want to sing and perform at concerts. Once I think the pandemic is starting to go away, it just gets worse. It’s true that I’m starting to get exhausted," she said.
"I think working people, not just me, are feeling a sense of loss and emptiness. I feel like I’ve lost my job now that I can’t perform. I really almost started crying just now. I’ll be waiting for the day I can meet everyone again," she said while explaining how the pandemic has been affecting her career.
Meanwhile, though the singer is not performing anytime soon, Taeyeon will be singing an OST for SBS’s drama "Do You Like Brahms."
