- Brady opted to unretire to play again for the Buccaneers this NFL season
Professional football is a physical and grueling sport, and no one is spared from the potential repercussions once an athlete's playing years are over.
Tom Brady, who unceremoniously unretired to play one more season, is already 45 years old and has taken a lot of hits throughout his NFL career.
When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers opened training camp, Tom Brady mysteriously disappeared for about 11 days.
It was initially alleged that the seven-time Super Bowl champion's marriage was undergoing rough times, but no less than Gisele Bundchen set the record straight when she spoke to Elle.
The 42-year-old narrated how she took a break from her modeling career so that she could focus on her family.
But at the same time, she also pointed out how she grew concerned about her husband's well-being–especially considering that Brady is plying his trade in a physically-taxing sport.
"I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again. But ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for [them]. He needs to follow his joy, too," Bundchen stated.
Bundchen also addressed claims that she was desperate for her husband to retire, branding it as "sexist."
She explained that in reality, she wanted Brady to be more present with their family.
"I've done my part, which is [to] be there for [Brady]. I moved to Boston, and I focused on creating a cocoon and a loving environment for my children to grow up in and to be there supporting him and his dreams," Bundchen shared.
There is no question that Brady has achieved a lot of things as an NFL player, accolades that may be tough to replicate.
Hence, Bundchen is trying to convince Brady to face reality.
Bundchen continues to raise their three kids: Benjamin (12), Vivian (9) and Jack (15).
All she wants is to see her husband help in the upbringing of their kids in one piece.
"Seeing my children succeed and become the beautiful little humans that they are, seeing [Brady] succeed, and being fulfilled in his career—it makes me happy," she stressed. "At this point in my life, I feel like I've done a good job on that."
