Cher came too close to upstaging her son, Chaz Bono, at the 2012 GLAAD Media Awards on Sunday.

Bono was there to accept the Stephen F. Kolzak Award for his activism. The award is a huge honor in the LGBT community, and Bono's famous mom and stepmother, Mary Bono Mack, were there to present it to him, but not before Cher gave a long, rambling speech in which she even mentioned how her child's gender change made her confuse her pronouns. She even confused the pronouns while talking on stage.

Bono, who also received an award for his documentary chronicling his gender change, Becoming Chaz, seemed to take it all in stride.

It was an amazing night to have my mother and stepmother present me with the award, he told People magazine in a statement. From a group I worked for 15 years ago; for Becoming Chaz to be honored as best documentary; and to be so enthusiastically received by my community. I was truly touched on so many levels.
