Glen Campbell reveals he has Alzheimer’s; distraught fans respond via twitter
Famous country singer Glen Campbell has revealed in an interview with the People magazine that he has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
The 75-year old singer, known for hits like Rhinestone Cowboy, Wichita Lineman and Galveston, was diagnosed with the disease six months earlier. Campbell will apparently launch his final album in August and a last tour in October.
Campbell however maintains that he still loves to play for his fans and thanked them for sticking with him through thick and thin.
His wife, Kim Campbell, who was also with him during the interview, said: If he flubs a lyric or gets confused on stage, I wouldn't want people to think, 'What's the matter with him? Is he drunk?'
