  • Steph Curry has been out since October after fracturing his left hand
  • The Golden State Warriors are anticipating his return this Sunday against the Washington Wizards
  • Steve Kerr says Curry hasn't seen much scrimmages yet

The Golden State Warriors have been on a rebuilding stretch this season with their star players Steph Curry and Klay Thompson out with injuries. The once-dominant Warriors are now last in the NBA with a 12-46 record. They’re in a position to pick up a draft lottery pick in the upcoming draft to come back stronger next season.

While the Warriors have their share of injuries in a season that is most likely, the team will still want to finish the year strong. They’ve made some adjustments and roster changes during the trade deadline, highlighted by acquiring former number one overall pick Andrew Wiggins. They traded away their offseason pickup D’Angelo Russell for the athletic services of Wiggins.

These adjustments will hopefully set the pace for the team as they await Curry’s return. Curry has been out since October when he broke his left hand after an awkward fall and collision against the Phoenix Suns. He underwent surgery for his metacarpal fracture and has been out ever since. Shams Charania reported Curry returning to the action in the Warriors’ Sunday matchup against the Washington Wizards.

While the league is anticipating the return of the two-time MVP, Steve Kerr shared that he hasn’t had much scrimmage time yet with the team. Per CBS Sports, Kerr added that he’ll play when it’s already the best time for him to suit up. “ Nothing's official. He'll play when he's ready," Kerr said.

While it’s been reported that Curry will return by the end of the week, there’s still some precaution about putting him back right away. "That's when he wants to play, and he will when we all feel he's ready to go. I think he needs some more scrimmage time. We don't have much of an opportunity to do that given all of the games," said Kerr.

Curry has changed the game with the pace and sheer skill he brings on the court. His three-point shooting has dominated the league as he’s proven time and time again. He is on pace to reach and beat Reggie Miller and Ray Allen’s spot in the all-time three-pointers made, as he’s already converted 2,492 shots beyond the arc throughout his career.
