The defending champion Golden State Warriors sit atop the Western Conference and look poised to compete for their fourth NBA championship in five years. However, there appears to be trouble in paradise.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Marc J. Spears reported that Draymond Green was confronted by teammates in the locker room after a frustrating overtime loss Monday night to the Los Angeles Clippers.

With the game tied in the waning seconds, Green grabbed a defensive rebound and took the ball up the court, while Kevin Durant signaled for a pass that never came. Green attempted to pass to Kevon Looney, who was driving to the basket, but the Clippers disrupted the play and the Warriors never got a shot off.

Durant was visibly unhappy with Green’s decision at the end of regulation. Wojnarowski on Tuesday claimed Green’s teammates approached the volatile forward in the locker room in one of the “most intense” scenes of the Warriors’ dynasty.

According to ESPN, the situation did not escalate to anything physical.

The team is reportedly trying to sort through the situation. The problem is apparently not about Green overlooking Durant and more about Green passionately defending his choice instead of apologizing.

Warriors guard Shaun Livingston called it “team spirit” in postgame comments. Durant quickly exited the Warriors locker room after the game and skipped his media availability, the Athletic’s Anthony Slater reported. Green remained in the locker room but sat in a corner looking at his phone, without offering much in the way of commentary.

It was Green’s text message to Durant after the Warriors’ epic collapse in the 2016 NBA Finals that reportedly set off Golden State’s run of greatness.

However, there has been minor conflict between the two during their back-to-back championship runs since then. Retired big man David West said there were “some things internally” that the public did not know about during last year’s title run.
