Freddie Highmore has confirmed the speculations that he’s already married in his latest interview.

The “Good Doctor” star, 29, admitted during his guest appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Monday that he has officially tied the knot in secret. This put an end to the rumors that surfaced after he was seen wearing what appeared to be a wedding band in his previous public sightings.

“Yes, I got married. It’s funny — ever since I’ve been wearing this ring, people have been asking me if I’m married, so I figured I should clarify it,” he was quoted as saying during the episode by People.

Highmore also seemingly threw some shade at Hollywood star Tom Cruise during the interview when he referenced what the latter did during his infamous appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in 2005. At the time, Cruise jumped on the couch while expressing his love for his then-girlfriend Katie Holmes, as per Us Weekly.

“I’m not gonna jump up and down on the couch on the talk show and express my excitement that way. I know that you do that in America,” the “Bates Motel” alum said.

He continued, “But I'm as happy as a Brit can be and I'm married to a very wonderful woman now. So yes, I feel very happy.”

Highmore opted to keep his wife’s identity a secret, but he confirmed that she is British. The former child star also explained his trepidation about calling his spouse “my wife” because it “sounds very possessive,” according to him.

“We don’t really use that yet, but we just point to the rings and be like, ‘Here, look, draw your own conclusions,’” he said.

When Kimmel asked Highmore if his wife is allowed to call him “my husband,” he quickly responded, “That sounds a little bit better. It’s just the ‘my wife.’”

In the ABC medical drama, his character, Dr. Shaun Murphy, is also expected to undergo some big changes during the show’s fifth season. One of them has to do with the fact that he is now engaged to Lea, as per Digital Spy.

“The Good Doctor” Season 5 premiered on Sept. 27. The show airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
