The first trailer of “The Good Wife” spinoff is here, and it looks amazing! Watch the video below:
Here are three things we learned from watching the promo:
1. There’s Going To Be Lots Of Drama
“The Good Fight” seems to be packed with ample suspense and drama, much like its parent series. The video teases that the offshoot will have lots of sex, court room drama, boardroom meetings, crying and scandal. Given that the new show has been created by “The Good Wife” creators Robert and Michelle King, we can expect the same level of anticipation and legal drama.
2. Maia Is A Lesbian
Several reports had cited that Leslie’s character Maia is a lesbian. The video confirms that the intriguing character is indeed gay.
3. It’s Not On CBS
Unfortunately, all episodes of “The Good Fight” won’t premiere on CBS. Only the series will premiere on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS. After airing Season 1, episode 1, all following episodes will air every Sunday exclusively on CBS All Access, the streaming service provided by CBS.
“The Good Fight” begins one year after the events of the series finale of “The Good Wife.” As a result of the financial scam, Diane’s savings have been wiped out and Maia’s reputation as a lawyer has been destroyed. The two are forced out of Lockhart & Lee and quickly join Lucca Quinn’s (Cush Jumbo) law firm.
The series also stars Sarah Steele, Delroy Lindo, Bernadette Peters, Justin Bartha, Erica Tazel and Paul Guilfoyle. Carrie Preston will reprise her Emmy award-winning role as Elsbeth Tascioni, reports Deadline. Additionally, Gary Cole will return as Diane’s husband Kurt McVeigh. Zach Grenier and Jerry Adler will guest star in the series premiere.
