Google exec's release in Egypt confirmed by family
Google Inc executive Wael Ghonim, who went missing in Cairo, has been released and is on his way home, a family member told Reuters on Monday.
Yes, we spoke to Wael. He has been released and he is on his way home, a member of his family told Reuters by telephone. It was not clear who or what organization had been holding him.
Google said last week that Ghonim, its head of marketing for the Middle East and North Africa, had not been seen since January 27 and began a public search for him, giving out a telephone number for information about him.
