Google leader of Google Android's project to resign?
Google's Engineering Director Steven Horrowitz who led development of Google Android's mobile project to build a Linux-based open-source phone operating system has joined Coupons Inc.
The Mountain View interactive coupon marketing and technology company will put Horrowitz as the new chief technology officer whom he will oversee Coupons' global engineering, product management and technology efforts for its creation and distribution of coupons to retailers.
The company is at a pivotal point in its business, and I am eager to help further advance its development and deployment of new platforms and services for digital promotions, Horowitz said in a statement Tuesday.

The departure signals a potential shift for Google, which has counted on Horowitz for nearly all of of its Android development. A replacement hasn't been publicly named.
