Google Nexus 5X: 5 Important Features That Are Absent On The New Smartphone
The Google Nexus 5X, a smartphone built by LG, has been officially announced Tuesday, alongside the Google Nexus 6P made by Huawei. However, the Google Nexus 5X comes with midrange specs and lacks couple of important features.
Here are some of the important features that are absent on the device:
Only 2 GB of RAM
The Snapdragon 808 that features a 64-bit hexa-core processor powers up the Google Nexus 5X. It is supported by 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM. It shows that the Nexus 5X is midrange device. However, the 32 GB variant of the Xiaomi Mi 4C that is also powered by the same chipset comes with 3 GB of RAM.
No MicroSD Slot
Most of the midrange Android powered smartphones come with a microSD slot. However, the Google Nexus 5X does not feature it. The device also comes with lower internal storage options like 16 GB and 32 GB.
Lacks Wireless Charging
The LG Nexus 4 came with wireless charging support. And most of the new handsets are arriving with support for wireless charging. However, the feature is unavailable on the LG Nexus 5X.
No OIS For Rear Camera
The LG Nexus 5X as well as the Huawei Nexus 6P are equipped with 12.3-megapixel camera that comes with a 1.55 μm-sized pixels. Both the handsets can shoot impressive photos in low-lighting conditions. Most current flagships like the iPhone 6S Plus and the Galaxy Note 5 come with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) feature for their respective cameras. However, both the new Nexus handsets lack OIS even though they are packed with topnotch cameras.
Single Front-facing Speaker
The Nexus 6P comes with two stereo speakers at the front. However, the smaller sibling does not feature dual front-facing speakers, Phone Arena reported. The Nexus 5X features two speaker grilles at the front. According to reports, the top one is for earpiece and the bottom one houses a single speaker.
