Google Nexus 5X Release Date, Preorder Update: Device Priced At $379, Shipping Starts On Oct. 22
Google's new Nexus 5X built by LG will start shipping from Oct. 22 onwards and the handset is now available for preorder, according to a new report. The search giant introduced Nexus 5X, along with the Nexus 6P, last month.
The LG Nexus 5X can be ordered from Google Store in three different colors namely black, white and a beautiful mint hue. However, at this point, there is no release information available on the bigger Huawei Nexus 6P. Similar to the original Nexus 5, the 5X has also been manufactured by LG and hence, there are similarities in the design.
However, the upgrades and changes include a marginally bumpy camera unit at the rear and a fingerprint scanner at the back. Upon release, this handset will become one of the first few devices to come pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.
Speaking of Nexus 5X price, the device will set the buyers back by $379 for the 16 GB variant. Interested buyers can preorder the device from Google Store. Meanwhile, Android Beat reported the device comes bundled with a "three-month trial of Google Play Music." To top it off, a $50 free Google Play Store gift card will be offered to the ones ordering the handset between Sept. 29 and Oct. 25. This offer is specific to the U.S. customers. The Nexus 6P price, on the other hand, has been listed as $499.
The Nexus 5X comes with a 5.2-inch LCD display, packed with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels screen resolution. Under the hood, the device is powered by a hexa-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 808) chip and backed by 2 GB of RAM. There is a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera unit with large 1.55-micron pixels sensor for shooting in dim-lit conditions, Phone Arena reported. The device comes housed with a 2,700 mAh Battery and USB Type-C support for rapid charging.
