Search engine giant Google announced its flagship smartphone series for this year a few weeks ago and while it did not reveal the devices' launch date, a tip from China claimed it could happen on Sept. 13. However, a new exclusive report debunks this information, offering a new release date for the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro along with the start of the pre-order.
The supposed new information about the release details of the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro came from an industry insider and FrontPageTech's Jon Prosser. In a new report, the insider revealed Google's flagship smartphone series will be released on Oct. 28.
Consumers can start to pre-order the devices as early as Oct. 19, according to the report. Prosser also claimed the information came from "a few of my best sources" and even mentioned, Bald Panda, the insider who leaked about the Sept. 13 release date, "doesn't have a solid track record."
There is no way to verify if his latest claim regarding the pre-order and release date of Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro holds water. However, Prosser has provided some accurate information in the past and he is very adamant that the dates he shared are accurate.
Besides, considering the search engine giant's release pattern, the Oct. 28 release date makes sense. It may be recalled the Pixel 5 was released on Oct. 15 and the Pixel 4 on Oct. 22. The other Pixel smartphones were also released in October.
Google revealed the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will feature its in-house, custom-designed System on Chip dubbed as Tensor. Apart from that, consumers also learned the upcoming devices would sport a 50-MP camera and an in-display fingerprint reader.
Several leaks claimed the upcoming flagship smartphones from Google would share the same feature as the Samsung Galaxy S21, that is the presence of an Ultra-wideband (UWB) chip. It is also believed to have a 5G modem, which is sourced from Samsung.
It is worth noting that like all leaks, these release details about the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are not official. In this case, fans should temper their expectations and take this information as highly speculative at this stage.
Google would most likely announce the flagship smartphones' release date and pre-order details at its next Made By Google event.
