Google Play Pass Service Launches With Hundreds Of Games And Apps
Google is launching an all-new subscription service that will give users access to a library of hundreds of apps and games from the Play Store.
Tech giant Google is launching a new subscription service that gives subscribers access to hundreds of apps and games that are normally sold at the Google Play Store. The service, “Google Play Pass,” allows users to enjoy more than 350 apps and games, all of them free of ads, in-app purchases and upfront payments.
“Google Play has always been about connecting you to the best apps, games and digital content out there,” Austin Shoemaker, Google Play Group product manager, wrote in a blog entry. “Since everyone plays a little differently, we’re introducing a new way to enjoy many of these digital experiences: Google Play Pass.”
The new Play Pass service launches in the U.S. this week and will cost subscribers $4.99 a month. Those who wish to try it can take part in a 10-day trial and subscribe after that. Google also said that U.S. subscribers can avail of a special limited-time promotion to get Play Pass subscription for only $1.99 per month for a year, then $4.99 after.
Play Pass includes both well-known and lesser-known apps and games from the Play Store. These apps and games will be identified using the Google Play Pass logo: a small “ticket” that features colors Google commonly uses for its logos and icons.
Here’s a list of titles that will come with Play Pass. This list isn’t exhaustive, but it includes titles mentioned by Shoemaker as well as revealed by a trailer.
