Gordon Ramsay Soccer Aid Tackle Sends Chef To Hospital [VIDEO]
Gordon Ramsay was injured during a Soccer Aid match between England and the Rest of the World that got a bit out of hand (check it out in the video below).
The Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares star was carried off the pitch in a stretcher and to a hospital, sustaining what a spokesperson termed a back injury that won't cause any long term damage, according to the Daily Mirror. He checked out of the hospital this afternoon.
The TV chef, formerly a player for the Scottish club Rangers, got nicked during a harsh tackle by former England player Teddy Sheringham, who then slapped his face as Ramsay writhed on the ground, wincing and smiling at the same time.
The chef was carted off, but he let fans know that he'll be fine.
Thx 4 all the messages. Out of hospital after receiving amazing care from medics at ground & hospital. Bit sore but fine Gx, Ramsay tweeted.
Also in the mix was actor Will Ferrell, who limped off the pitch with an apparently leg injury.
The two hobbled players were teammates, along with Gerard Butler, Woody Harrelson, Mike Myers and Edward Norton. The event was organized by Robbie Williams and raised more than 6.5 million pounds for UNICEF.
The group lost to an England team that included U.K. celebs and former soccer players, with a final score of 3-1.
