After the success of his latest drama, "Yumi's Cells 2," GOT7 vocalist and actor Jinyoung is excited and wants to expand his acting career when he reaches 30.

While he still has three years to go before he hits 30, Jinyoung is already contemplating taking on new challenges in his acting career.

"Won't my range of challenges become wider? My appearance will change and the characters I can portray will become more diverse, so I'm looking forward to it," he said in an interview with South Korea's Arena Homme Plus.

The 27-year-old actor, who is also known as Park Jin-Young, debuted as a vocalist with GOT7 in 2014. The band soon became one of JYP Entertainment's best-selling boy groups of all time. Prior to this, he was part of the JJ Project, along with fellow GOT7 member Jay B. In the same year, he was cast in the drama "Dream High 2." He also starred as a supporting actor in the 2013 romantic drama "When a Man Falls in Love."

In between his busy K-pop activities, Jinyoung successfully did a lead role in the 2018 drama "He Is Psychometric." It was his first lead role. Two years later, he landed his first movie role in "Yaksha: Ruthless Operations." In the following year, he starred in the hit romantic comedy "Yumi's Cells 1" and also its sequel, which was released last month.

GOT7 members left JYP Entertainment last year. They are currently pursuing solo careers. So far, Jinyoung is the only member who is actively pursuing acting as the other members – Jay B, Youngjae, Mark, Yugyeom, Jackson and Bambam – are currently focused on their musical careers.

Jinyoung said he is hoping for a long and fruitful career in TV and film.

"Even if I don't know where I'm headed, I hope [my career] continues for a long, long time. When I see senior actors who work continuously and consistently even as time goes by, I respect them. I want to continue doing this work with a solid image," he told the outlet.

After a decade since his first foray into the K-pop world, the "If You Do" singer said he is now more confident in his abilities and feels "less anxious" than how he was when he started his career.
