‘Gotham’ Season 2 Spoilers: Episode 20 Synopsis Released; What Will Happen In ‘Unleashed’? [VIDEO]

Gotham City is quickly falling apart on Season 2 of Fox’s “Gotham.” Everyone believed Theo Galavan was dead, but he made his murderous return in episode 19 and now believes he is the ancient warrior Azrael. It will now be up to Bruce Wayne and Jim Gordon to find a way to stop him and bring Hugo Strange to justice in episode 20, titled “Unleashed.”

According to the synopsis, Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) will turn to an old friend for help in taking down the man responsible for Theo Galavan (James Frain) coming back from the dead, Hugo Strange (BD Wong). Strange will do his best to avoid getting arrested for the experiments he’s been conducting, so Bruce will enlist the help of Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova) to find him.

The promo video for episode 20 shows Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) talking to Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas) about Theo coming back. She believes someone got into his head, which makes him very dangerous. It also looks like Theo will be trying to track down the real “sword of sin” after the fake one Strange made for him broke. The villain was last seen at large at the end of episode 19.

Theo might not be the only supervillain roaming the streets in episode 20. Strange could be looking to release more of his lab experiments into the world to avoid getting arrested by the GCPD. The closing seconds of the promo video showed the return of Firefly (Michelle Veintimilla) and her flamethrower. We’ve already seen Strange turn Mr. Freeze (Nathan Darrow) loose, but now it looks like he’ll be looking to burn things down in episode 20.

After seeing Theo’s return on the news, Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) will want to finish what him and Gordon started. Penguin wants revenge for the murder of his mother and he’ll be on the trail to Galavan to make sure he stays dead this time. Penguin’s search leads him back to Butch (Drew Powell), which could result in the former partners squaring off.
