'Gotham' Season 2 Trailer: Video Teases Appearance Of The Joker And More Villains
Fox has just released yet another promo video for Season 2 of the “Batman”-inspired drama series “Gotham.” The video carries the tagline “Lunatics Will Run the Asylum” and features a sneak peek of the season’s big villains like the Joker and Tabitha Galavan, a.k.a. the Tigress.

Detective Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) will have his hands full in Season 2, which has already been nicknamed “Rise of the Villains." Showrunner Bruno Heller revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con that the season will be introducing a host of new enemies to add to an already formidable roster that was built up in Season 1.
In the latest promo video, actor Cameron Monaghan, who plays the prime “Batman” villain the Joker, features prominently as one of the inmates inside Arkham Asylum. He was arrested in Season 1 after he brutally murdered his own mother. In one of the scenes, the Joker, at this point still known as Jerome Valeska, is seen with Jim Gordon’s ex-girlfriend, Barbara Keane (Erin Richards).
Keane has also landed in Arkham Asylum after she was traumatized by the Ogre (Milo Ventimiglia), a dapper young psychopath who manipulated her into killing her own parents. Jim was able to rescue her, but the psychological damage may been too great to overcome. After she attacked Jim’s new girlfriend, Dr. Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin), it remains to be seen if she will continue in her downward spiral on Season 2.
Also in the trailer, actress Jessica Lucas shows off her whip-wielding skills as the new villain Tigress. She joins the cast as another thorn on Jim Gordon’s side along with her brother, Theo Galavan, played by veteran actor James Frain of “True Blood.”
Season 1 mainstay Robin Lord Taylor also reprises his role as Penguin. The first two Season 2 teasers feature the theme “Rise of the Villains” as well as Bruce Wayne’s (David Mazouz) first venture down into the Batcave with his loyal butler, Alfred (Sean Pertwee).
Season 2 of “Gotham” is scheduled to premiere on Monday, Sept. 21, at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
