‘Gotham’ Season 3 Spoilers: Fish Mooney To Control Penguin Next Season?
Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) is one of the most formidable villains in the Fox show “Gotham.” After all, the character already came back from the dead and even took out her own eye just to survive a basement prison.
In “Gotham” Season 3, the villain will be back with vengeance, and she will be wielding control over her former henchman Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor).
“She definitely has a huge impact on Penguin,” executive producer Ken Woodruff told Entertainment Weekly. “She’s a really powerful person in this world, and Indian Hill only accentuated that. Her time in Indian Hill gave her this ability to exert control over people and for her. She couldn’t ask for a better power. She’s going to stir things up and cause some real problems for everyone involved.”
While Mooney will be busy playing mind games with Penguin, Penguin will be exercising his control over Ed Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) and Butch Gillian (Drew Powell).
“There’s this weird triangle between Penguin, Nygma, and Butch that starts near the beginning of the season, works through the first part, and I think will carry through the season of this weird dynamic,” Powell told Comic Book.
Smith said Nygma and Butch, who are complete opposites, will be competing for Penguin’s favor.
“The pair will be constantly both trying to be Penguin's favorite,” he said. “I’m much smarter than he is, but he’s much bigger. Whenever we’re vying for the attention of Penguin, competing with each other, it’s kind of funny. We have very different gifts. It’s been really neat to play with him. It’s like a bull fight kind of thing – he’s the bull, but I’m totally in charge.”
The title of “Gotham” Season 3 is called “Mad City: Better to Reign in Hell…” and it replaces the “Heroes Will Fall” campaign that was earlier intended for the season, according to Screen Rant. It follows Season 2’s “Rise of the Villains” and “Wrath of the Villains.”
“Gotham” will return on Monday, Sept. 19, at 8 p.m. on Fox.
