Raymond J. Barry, best known for his roles in the movies “Training Day” and “The Purge 3,” is the latest addition to the cast of the Fox series “Gotham.”

According to Deadline, Barry will play the temple shaman, who is a mysterious figure who enters Bruce Wayne’s (Mazouz) life in the hopes of unlocking the full potential of his own mind. Even though it appears that the shaman’s intention is to help Bruce so he could in turn help Gotham City, his real intention is actually much more “sinister.”

There are other new characters expected to appear in the second half of the series’ third season. “Dexter” star James Remar will be playing Jim Gordon’s (Ben McKenzie) uncle, TV Line reported.

According to the character’s description, Uncle Frank “is a master at playing both sides and a man who knows how to keep a secret. Frank abandoned the family after Jim’s father’s fatal car crash and now, 25 years later, he’s returned to reconnect with his estranged nephew.” Of course, nothing is as it seems in Gotham City, so Uncle Frank might be hiding something up his sleeves. He is harboring a dark secret - “one that will upset the very foundations of Jim’s world and force him into a terrible choice between saving his family and saving his city.”

Meanwhile, more scenes can be expected from “Banshee” alum Ivana Milicevic, who was introduced last year as Maria Kyle, mother of Selina Kyle (Carmen Bicondova). Like Selina, Maria is “a tough-as-nails operator with an arsenal of street smarts.” She is also a world-class drifter who has the ability to hide her true self behind a plethora of personas. But even though she has lived a life of a criminal, Maria still can’t shake off her guilt of abandoning Selina - the only person in the world she truly loves.

“Gotham” airs every Monday at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
