‘Gotham’ Season 4 Spoilers: Will Fox Show Introduce Baby Batgirl?
Detective Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) have drifted far away from each other in “Gotham,” and it seems like their once loving relationship is gone for good.
In the comic books, the two have a different fate since they end up getting married and becoming parents to a girl named Barbara. The young Barbara will later on grow up to become Batgirl.

When asked if this is still possible in the show, Richards provided an uncertain reply to Cinema Blend. “I don’t think so. I think it’s still possible. I think that this version of Barbara that we’ll see will actually be the most surprising to Jim as a development. I think he might be taken aback by how she’s turned out. And not necessarily in a bad way,” she teased.
In the Season 3 finale, Barbara was electrocuted by her former friend, Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas). She was left for dead, but maybe the electric shock did something else to her.
David Mazouz, who plays Bruce Wayne in the series, assured fans that Barbara is still alive and kicking when he spoke during the Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in Nashville recently, according to Movie Pilot. When asked how Gordon would end up naming his daughter after Barbara, Mazouz hinted at another evolution for Babs, implying that the villainess has not yet bitten the dust. “Maybe she can get good again... and they’ll get back together at some point soon,” he said.
As for Bruce, he will move on from his failed relationship with Selina Kyle (Carmen Bicondova) and begin his transition into the playboy DC fans all know and love next season.
“I’d say visually, when you look at what Bruce is going to be doing this season, it’s gonna look far closer to what our conception of Batman is definitely gonna be. You’re also going to get to see him do very specific things, certain elements like when you watch Bruce Wayne acting like a playboy, we sort of ask the question how did he learn to do that so well,” said executive producer John Stephen.
“Gotham” Season 4 will premiere on Fox on Sept. 21.
