Governor Chris Christie Rumored To Visit Long Beach Island Over Memorial Day Weekend For ‘Community Breakfast’
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie reportedly will visit Surf City on Long Beach Island Saturday, May 25. The governor is said to be having a "community breakfast" at Scojo’s restaurant.
The governor’s press office told the International Business Times that Long Beach Island is “not on the governor’s schedule for the weekend.” However, he will be at a number of locations during Memorial Day weekend.
Governor Christie’s alleged visit to Long Beach Island is said to be a part of the “Stronger Than The Storm” campaign to make Jersey Shore visitors aware that “From Sandy hook to Cape May, our shops are open. Hotel rooms ready. Pools cleaned. Beds made. And crab cakes cooking.”
The visit is being kept under the radar for now, and Scojo’s restaurant would not confirm nor deny the rumors of Christie’s “community breakfast.” One Surf City resident claims that the breakfast will occur at 10:30 a.m.
