Grace VanderWaal Releasing First Album Soon? ‘America’s Got Talent’ Winner Teases New Music On Twitter
“America’s Got Talent” Season 11 winner Grace VanderWaal is almost ready to release her first album.
On Monday, Oct. 10, the 12-year-old phenom revealed that she’s been busy working on her album on her Twitter account. VanderWaal posted two photos showing the young singer’s first professional recording session. She also gave a shoutout to “America’s Got Talent” judge and Syco Music founder Simon Cowell in her post, saying that she’s excited to let him hear her new songs. “I am sooooooo excited about what this is sounding like.@SimonCowell can't wait for you to hear it,” she captioned the snaps. VanderWaal was joined in the studio by “America’s Got Talent” vocal coach Autumn Rowe and music producer Greg Wells, who also tweeted about her first recording session. Wells has produced several hits over the years, including “Apologize” by OneRepublic and “Waking Up In Vegas” by Katy Perry.
“This face says it's all @GraceVanderWaal .. so excited to be a part of your first studio sessions,” Rowe wrote, along with a photo of a smiling VanderWaal. Meanwhile, Wells posted that he had a blast helping the young singer out during her first recording session, tweeting, “Having an amazing time with @GraceVanderWaal and honored to be making her first studio recordings with her. She's killing it!”
Meanwhile, Cowell, who called VanderWaal “the next Taylor Swift,” previously opened up about the young singer during an interview with Billboard. “It’s a lot to take in, but I’ve got to hand it to her. She’s a very smart, calm, focused girl and I think she knows what she wants to achieve and what we always say to artists in this situation is it’s not a race,” he said of VanderWaal.
He also teased that VanderWaal has a lot of projects lined up for her in the future. “There is something. A much, much bigger announcement coming soon, which is separate from this,” he said, referring to her upcoming concerts in the PH Showroom at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on Oct. 27 through Oct. 29.
However, Cowell added that her fans may have to wait a while for additional concerts, saying, “But that will be for, I’m guessing, 18 months time. But for the moment it is the short term residency for those three acts. That’s the only commitment so far.”
