Grammy Awards 2012 Nominations: Kanye West Leads List; Adele, Bruno Mars Close Behind [LIST]

The nominees in the top categories for the 54th annual Grammy Awards were announced Wednesday night in Los Angeles, with Kanye West leading the pack of award contenders for 2012 with seven nominations. Adele and Bruno Mars follow close on with six nods apiece.

West received nominations for his album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and for his collaboration with Jay-Z, Watch the Throne.

Among the six awards both Adele and Bruno Mars are nominated for are three big categories that include album, song and record of the year.

Veterans like the Foo Fighters have snagged themselves six nods, while rapper Lil Wayne has five nominations.

The winners will be announced during a ceremony on Feb. 12.
