Grammy Winners 2019 Leaked? Recording Academy Denies Rumors
List of the winners of the prestigious Grammy Awards for 2019 was allegedly leaked on the official website on Jan. 20, according to Twitter user, who posted a tweet Jan. 28, with a video showing the results. The data was not available at Grammy's website at the time of publishing this article, and there was also an official denial of the leak.
However, some of the alleged winners revealed by the Twitter user who claims to be from Moscow are:
- Song of the year — Shallow
- Record of the year — I Like It
- Album of the year — H.E.R.
- Best new artist — Chloe x Halle
- Best pop solo — Beck (Colors)
- Best pop album - Taylor Swift
The user also said the data was taken down from the site of the Recording Academy — organizers of the Grammy Awards — minutes after he first posted the leak on a Russia social network.
A few hours after the tweet went viral, Robert Kovacik, a reporter at NBC Los Angeles, tweeted a statement from the Recording Academy, in which it denied any leak and said, “there is no legitimacy to this.” The statement added the results were sealed till the time of the awards ceremony.
#GRAMMYs: @RecordingAcad full statement: "There is no legitimacy to this. GRAMMY Awards results are not shared, even with Recording Academy staff members, until the day of the GRAMMY Awards ceremony, when names of the recipients are delivered by Deloitte in sealed envelopes."
