Grammys 2022: Carrie Underwood Performs Latest Single 'Ghost Story' At The Event [Watch]
Carrie Underwood returned to the Grammys stage Sunday after nine years to perform her latest single, titled "Ghost Story."
The 39-year-old singer performed the single at the 64th annual Grammy Awards, held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Here’s a glimpse of Underwood’s powerful performance:
Her last performance was in 2013. "I mean, the Grammys and performing at the Grammys, that is such an iconic thing," Underwood told The Recording Academy ahead of her performance, ET reported. "There are so many incredibly talented musical acts in so many different genres of music that only a select few actually get to perform on the stage even if they’re nominated for multiple ones per night."
The singer went on to praise the event, hosted by South African comedian Trevor Noah, for making every talent’s performance look “incredible” on the stage.
"It’s just really special. It’s iconic. There’s always incredible moments," she noted. "They do such an incredible job of making everybody’s performances look incredible. So I’m always excited to get to play on the GRAMMYs stage."
During the event, Underwood was nominated for the Best Country Duo/Group Performance for "If I Didn’t Love You" alongside singer Jason Aldean. She was also nominated in the "Best Roots Gospel Album" category for "My Savior."
Underwood took home the award for "Best Roots Gospel Album."
Before attending the ceremony, the singer walked the red carpet with her husband, former professional ice hockey player Mike Fisher. She donned a beautiful yellow gown, while Fisher donned a black suit.
On the personal front, Underwood and Fisher got married in 2010. The couple share two kids: Isaiah Michael, 7, and Jacob Bryan, 3.
Besides singing, Underwood also appeared in popular action-comedy TV series, "Cobra Kai" season 4 episode 9, titled "The Fall."
She will next feature in a documentary movie, titled "Truelove: The Film." The documentary will also feature actor Christopher Knight, singers Wynonna Judd, Darius Rucker, Dierks Bentley and Michael Ray.
It will be helmed by director Phil Viardo and it will revolve around a teenager named Callie Truelove, who has a rare genetic disorder called Williams syndrome.
