Graphic Video Of Mother Beating 3-Year-Old Son With Belt For Dropping Drink Goes Viral

A disturbing video of a mother beating her 3-year-old son with a belt started to go viral Wednesday. The child was apparently “reprimanded” because he dropped his drink on the floor.

The woman, who is reportedly from Honduras, beats the toddler at least five times with the belt, seemingly using as much force as possible. The boy screams in pain, cries, and tries to run away.

It’s unknown if police are investigating the woman, who was not named.

The video first appeared on Miscopy.com.

“A disheartened Honduran mother was taped when she gave a little ‘macaneada’ to her little son,” the caption for the video on the site reads. “This, presumably because the infant dropped off the table where he was eating a glass with soda.”

The woman is reportedly from Jackson Heights, Queens in New York, according to the blog Media Take Out. A family member who was concerned about the child’s health supposedly filmed the incident.

Some people in the comment section discussed whether the woman’s antics were necessary.

“There’s a thin line between abuse and discipline,” one of the top commenters wrote.

“We don’t know what he did and how many times she asked him stop,” one person wrote response to the top comment. “Some of these kids today need an ole school a-- whipping.”

A different commenter claimed there was nothing wrong with what the mother did in the video, writing, “Hey. I got my a-- whooped and I turned out fine. Still ain’t never been to jail either.”
