‘Great News’ Season 2, Episode 2 Sneak Peek: Katie And Greg Argue

Greg is upset at Katie in a sneak peek from Season 2, episode 2 of “Great News.”

In the minute-long video, Greg (Adam Campbell) expresses his disappointment over Katie’s (Briga Heelan) decision to pick a story on her own without Greg’s permission.

“What the hell you’re doing in that meeting?” Greg asks Katie as they enter his office.

“I’m sorry, okay? Diana (Tina Fey) told me to go for what I want,” Katie explains why she chose a story for herself without consulting him. “I just thought it would be nice if I got to decide what stories I do.”

“But that isn’t your job. Or you’re saying you want my job?” asks Greg, who works as the executive producer on “The Breakdown.”

“No, just that one part,” replies Katie, who is a segment producer on the news program. “You can do everything else an executive producer does.”

But Greg insists that deciding what stories to air on the show is his job. “Stay on the lane, Wendelson. You wouldn’t last a day as an executive producer,” Greg tells Katie.

“I think you are just scared because you don’t want anyone to find out how easy your job is,” Katie hits back, prompting Greg to announce to everyone that Katie will executive produce tomorrow’s show.

“Attention, everybody. Tomorrow’s show will be executive produced by Katie Wendelson,” Greg tells the rest of the team. “Why you ask? To teach someone a valuable lesson.”

According to the synopsis for the episode, Katie accepts Greg’s challenge but soon realizes that Greg’s work as an executive producer is much harder than she initially thought.

Elsewhere in the episode, Carol (Andrea Martin) uses Katie and Greg’s workplace rivalry as an opportunity to bring the two closer to each other.

At the end of the Season 2, episode 1, Katie accidentally let it slip to her mom Carol that Greg recently tried to kiss her. And because Carol doesn’t want Katie to miss out on having kids, the MMN intern will try to make Katie and Greg happen really hard through a “bunch of not subtle at all ways,” series creator Katie Wigfield said in a recent interview with Variety.
