‘Great News’ Season 2 Spoilers: Synopses For Episodes 7 And 8 Released
NBC will air two more new episodes of “Great News” before the year ends.
Synopses for Season 2, episodes 7 and 8 of the comedy series revealed that both installments will air back-to-back on Thursday, Dec. 21 at 8 p.m. EST.
In Season 2, episode 7, titled “A Christmas Carol Wendelson,” Carol (Andrea Martin) finds herself in a reverse “Christmas Carol” during which she realizes that she has so much Christmas spirit in her that she ends up driving everyone around her insane. Elsewhere in the episode, Chuck’s (John Michael Higgins) estranged son, Petey (Will Sasso), visits the “Breakdown” headquarters and Katie (Briga Heelan) is tasked to babysit him. But as Katie looks after Petey in the office, the news program producer attempts to get the father and son to reconnect.
Meanwhile, in Season 2, episode 8, titled “Sensitivity Training,” Carol and Chuck don’t think they should have to attend Sensitivity Training and decide to teach the rest of the “snowflakes in the office” a lesson. Also in the episode, Katie is excited about her new boyfriend, Jeremy (Reid Scott), but Portia (Nicole Richie) suspects Katie might just be a side piece.
Katie met Jeremy for the first time at the American Journalism Awards in Season 2, episode 4. Although Jeremy looked down at Katie for working in cable news during their first meeting, the handsome New York Times reporter developed feelings for her when he invited her to do some “real reporting” with him in Season 2, episode 6, in which they ended up kissing.
Greg (Adam Campbell) was devastated when he saw Katie and Jeremy kissing. While Katie is clearly into Jeremy, series creator Katie Wigfield said that Katie and Greg shippers have nothing to worry about. “The Katie-Greg stuff is definitely in the background,” Wigfield told Entertainment Weekly last August. “Hopefully it will come to a head in some exciting way towards the later part of the season.”
After next month’s back-to-back episodes, “Great News” will go on a brief hiatus and will return for a new episode on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018 at 9:30 p.m. EST on NBC.
