Green Arrow Actors Stephen Amell, Justin Hartley Team Up For Super Photo

There’s more than one way to “break the internet” and Stephen Amell definitely found a way to do just that on Saturday when he posted a photo with Justin Hartley from the Heroes and Villains Fan Fest event in San Jose, California.

Amell currently stars as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow on the hit CW series “Arrow,” but before he started in the role in 2012, there was another actor on the network who wielded the bow and arrow. That would be Hartley. While Hartley currently stars as Kevin Pearson on NBC’s breakout series “This Is Us,” he used to star on the WB/CW show “Smallville” as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow.

While many “Smallville” fans were originally confused as to why The CW’s Green Arrow series wasn’t simply a spinoff with Hartley as the lead, it seems everything worked out the way it was supposed to with both actors now having their own hit shows.

Plus, if everything hadn’t gone the way it had, then the world would be without this double Green Arrow photo of Amell and Hartley and the world would be worse because of it.

Not to mention that Amell’s caption is giving fans a lot to think and dream about. “You guys should see the deleted scene from #CrisisOnEarthX,” he wrote.

“Crisis on Earth X” was the recent four-part superhero crossover event on The CW which included “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl” and “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” and now fans are likely thinking about all of the cool ways that Hartley could’ve been a part of the special.

Here’s hoping they find a way to make that happen in the next crossover or that the “Arrow” powers-that-be cast Hartley in a guest-starring role in another random episode of the series. After that, “This Is Us” would have to find a guest role for Amell, as it’s only fair. To the actors, but more importantly to all the fans that love seeing the two of them together.

Aside from the Green Arrow actors, the Heroes and Villains Fan Fest event had quite a few other celebrity guests participating, including Emily Bett Rickards (“Arrow”), Brandon Routh (“Legends of Tomorrow”), David Ramsay (“Arrow”), Caity Lotz (“Legends of Tomorrow”), and Hartley’s “This Is Us” co-star Chris Sullivan, who superhero fans know from “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.”

You can see Amell on “Arrow” on Thursday on The CW at 9 p.m. EST and Hartley on “This Is Us” on NBC when the show returns on Jan. 2.
