Green Bay Packers Vs. San Francisco 49ers: Where And How To Watch Playoff Game, Preview, Prediction

The two favorites in the NFC will square off on Saturday night for the right to play in the NFC Championship Game.

The Green Bay Packers will visit the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round of the 2013 playoffs. It’s a rematch of the Week 1 game between the two clubs.

San Francisco was victorious, 30-22 in the September contest. Frank Gore ran for 112 yards and one touchdown in the win.

This, however, is a different 49ers team. Alex Smith completed 20 of 26 passes, won’t be under center in against the Packers. Colin Kaepernick will make his first ever postseason start.

Justin Smith is expected to play for San Francisco, but he might not be the same player that Green Bay saw in Week 1. He left the team’s Week 15 contest with a torn triceps tendon, and hasn’t been on the field since. He likely won’t be at 100 percent, might not be as effective on the defensive end.

Linebacker Aldon Smith is a candidate to become the Defensive Player of the Year, but hasn’t been the same without the defensive tackle on the field. Aldon Smith has 19.5 sacks with Jason Smith in the lineup, but none with him hurt.

Aaron Rodgers will look to take advantage of the injury. He led the NFL with a 108.0 passer rating in 2012, and could have a big game on Saturday. He’s been sacked more than any other quarterback in the league, will benefit from a banged up Justin Smith.

The winner of the contest will go on to play the victor of the Atlanta Falcons-Seattle Seahawks game. San Francisco is a three-point favorite.
