Green Day Singer Booted off Flight for Baggy Pants
Green Day lead singer, Billie Joe Armstrong, was kicked off a national flight after refusing to pull up his saggy pants on request from the flight attendant.
The 39-year-old singer was asked to step off a Southwest airlines flight from to Burbank to Oakland by a stewardess who had asked him to pull up his low lying pants.
According to an ABC producer who was on the same flight, Armstrong ignored the request and asked if the stewardess had better things to worry about before telling her he was trying to get to his seat.
When the airline was notified of the incident, Armstrong was issued an apology and put on the next flight.
We followed up with this customer and involved employees to get more details and, in our latest conversations, understand from the customer the situation was resolved to his satisfaction, said Southwest Airlines spokesman, Brad Hawkins, the BBC reported.
Following the incident, the artist tweeted, Just got kicked off a southwest flight because my pants sagged too low! What the F**k?
Meanwhile, Armstrong has announced that Green Day is working on a follow-up to their 2009 album 21st century breakdown
I don't want to give away too much but just know that me, Mike, Tre and Jason are collaborating and having the best time playing music, he said.
