Billie Joe Armstrong is heartbroken after his most cherished 1962 Chevrolet Nova, which has been with his family for more than three decades, was stolen. Now he is asking fans to help him find it.

The Green Day frontman uploaded a photo of his classic car on his Instagram page Saturday and asked his 2.4 million followers to inform authorities in case they have any information about the vehicle.

"My car was STOLEN 1962 Chevy II," he wrote in the caption. "This car is near and dear to all our hearts and has been in the GD family for over 30 years. Please send any sighting, tips or info to the Costa Mesa police. Incident # 22-002015, 22-002016. Please call 714-754-5280 please re-post, let's all help find this car!!"

At the same time, the 49-year-old singer and songwriter shared that the burglars also took two electric guitars and an amplifier "between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning," as per a statement the Costa Mesa Police Department posted on Twitter.

"Between Friday afternoon, Feb. 4 and Saturday morning, Feb. 5, it is suspected that unknown individuals made entry into a commercial business at the 1100 block of Victoria Street in Costa Mesa. The suspects stole items of high value including two electric guitars, an amp, and a white, 2-door 1962 Chevrolet Nova, with license plate #BPN888," the statement added.

Armstrong has been a longtime collector of classic automobiles.

In 2019, he and Billie Eilish sat at the back of his 1963 Ford Falcon for a joint interview with Rolling Stone. It was then that Armstrong revealed that he bought the car for $1,000 on Craigslist and rebuilt the automobile himself.

He also put up his 1963 Chevy Nova SS convertible — similar to the car that was stolen — for auction along with an autographed guitar in 2018.

Green Day was supposed to perform for Miley Cyrus' New Year's Eve Party special in Miami but they pulled out of the gig after Armstrong was exposed to COVID-19.

The group is set to appear at the Super Bowl LVI Music Fest in Los Angeles on Saturday, according to People.

Green Day released its 13th studio album, "Father of All," in 2020. It is the sequel to "American Idiot," which came out in 2004.
