From the makers of Grey Poupon mustard comes a limited-edition white wine infused with Grey Poupon mustard seeds – La Moutarde Vin

Kraft Heinz (KHC) has launched what is probably the first-ever mustard-inspired wine modeled after its Dijon mustard recipe.

The wine, a full-bodied Viognier 2020, has hints of spice and citrus and floral characteristics as well as an acidic balance, Kraft-Heinz said. It is best served chilled and pairs well with a classic Croque Monsieur, Dijon maple-glazed salmon, meat and cheese charcuterie board, and Grey Poupon itself.

While Kraft Heinz was enthusiastic over the debut of the Dijon wine, many mustard fans on social media weren’t sold on the idea and weren't shy about sharing their feelings.

One Twitter user on the site simply said, “Yuck.”

One user poked fun of the idea riffing on the company’s iconic commercial for the Grey Poupon mustard by saying, “ Pardon me. But I don't want to drink this.”

Still, another confused mustard lover pointed out that the idea fell short of April Fool’s Day.

Danielle Coopersmith, brand manager for Sandwich Enhancers, Kraft Heinz, said in a statement, “We’ve watched as leisurely lunches have been replaced by food delivery apps and deskside speed snacking. Here at Grey Poupon, we want lunch to feel worthy of savoring again.”

The La Moutarde Vin can be purchased with an 8-ounce jar of Grey Poupon Dijon mustard for $30 while supplies last at GreyPouponWine.com.

As of Tuesday at 1:06 p.m. ET, shares of Kraft Heinz were trading at $37.04, up 15 cents, or 0.41%.
