‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 11 Spoilers: Episode 8 Synopsis Released; What Will Happen In ‘Risk’?
“Grey’s Anatomy” will air its Season 11 winter finale on Thursday, Nov. 20. And according to the synopsis for episode 8, “Risk,” Shonda Rhimes, creator behind the hit ABC drama, will be tying up the first part of the installment with a blood-soaked bow. Seriously, nothing screams “holiday season” like a winter finale TV cliffhanger.
“Maggie (Kelly McCreary) and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) disagree with Derek (Patrick Dempsey) about the best way to approach a patient’s case, which leads to a bigger argument between the couple,” the summary begins. Although we’re kind of bummed to see MerDer’s relationship veering off course once again -- hey, maybe this leaves room for more shower makeup sex -- the duo’s disagreement will allow for Ellis’ (Kate Burton) girls to finally see eye-to-eye on something.
Meanwhile, Callie (Sara Ramirez) will face trouble at work when she “feels responsible” for one of her veteran patients being “pushed too far.” But the most exciting part of the synopsis was left for last. One of the doctor’s at Grey Sloan will have a routine procedure go south when results show a “devastating diagnosis,” the winter finale summary concluded.
And from the promo video, we now know a little more about what that teasing tidbit was suggesting. In the trailer for episode 8, Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton) finds something terribly alarming while performing an ultrasound on April (Sarah Drew) -- the woman (and co-worker) for whom Stephanie's ex-boyfriend Jackson (Jesse Williams) left her and with whom he is now expecting a baby.
“I need you to look at this. I think there’s something wrong with Jackson and April’s baby. I haven’t told her. I haven’t told Jackson. I have no idea what to do. Maybe we’re wrong,” she says. “I hope so,” Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) responds.
Do you think Rhimes is planning on killing off April and/or her baby? The Season 11 winter finale of “Grey’s Anatomy,” episode 8, “Risk,” will air Thursday, Nov. 20, at 8 p.m. EST.
