Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital is about to get turned on its head during episode 14, titled “Odd Man Out.” According to the Season 12 synopsis for the upcoming installment of ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” Richard (James Pickens Jr.) is going to throw his surgeons for loop when he swaps the resident and attending pairings.

But what exactly inspired the switch up? Well, in episode 13, Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton) and Penny (Samantha Sloyan) both publicly complained about the nepotism occurring within the hospital. One example of unfair treatment involving their fellow resident Ben (Jason George). They felt that Bailey’s (Chandra Wilson) husband was getting special treatment because he was married to the hospital’s Chief.

“It’s lame,” the two said simultaneously to DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti), who, unbeknownst to them, happens to be dating the “Prom Queen” of Grey Sloan — Maggie (Kelly McCreary).

Maggie went public with her relationship with DeLuca after he pestered her about no longer keeping their romance a secret. So, after careful thought and consideration, Maggie awkwardly announced to her co-workers that she’s dating an intern. But DeLuca didn’t seem too thrilled with the unveiling — especially not after the residents just complained about the unethical relationships within the hospital.

For fans who have been desperate for Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) to get a little more screen time, you’re in luck! The blond-haired doc will take on a “huge risk” in episode 14 when a woman who is pregnant with quadruplets rolls through the hospital doors. But the pregnancy woes won’t end there. April (Sarah Drew), who is a couple weeks pregnant with Jackson’s (Jesse Williams) baby, will “face a difficult decision” in the forthcoming episode. Could that decision involve finally telling Jackson that she’s carrying his child?

April has been reluctant to tell her ex that she’s pregnant, fearing that it might complicate their already complicated relationship even further. She also didn’t want her pregnancy to trap Jackson, forcing him to feel like he should get back together with April because of the baby growing in her belly.
