Only one of Sofia’s parents will leave court with sole custody of their daughter in episode 22 of ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy.” And according to the sneak-peek video of the upcoming Season 12 installment, both Callie and Arizona have a fair chance of walking away with their daughter.

So, who will the judge choose as Sofia’s (Eva Ariel Binder) guardian? Will it be Callie (Sara Ramirez), Sofia’s biological mother who wants to uproot her daughter from her life in Seattle so that she can follow Penny (Samantha Sloyan) across the country? Or will the judge grant custody to Sofia’s adoptive mother, Arizona (Jessica Capshaw)?

Calzona shippers will see each parent make a compelling case of why they are deserving of custody in the upcoming installment “Mama Tried.” In addition to stating their own cases, both Callie and Arizona have picked through the Grey Sloan staff to take the stand on their behalf during trial. And while Arizona landed Weber (James Pickens Jr.) as a witness, Callie managed to snag Penny, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Owen (Kevin McKidd).

But McKidd dished to TVLine that Penny will be more of a burden to Callie’s case than supportive when she takes the stand.

“The testimony that Penny gives … she does her best for Callie, but it doesn’t go as planned, and that causes problems,” the actor, who also directed the emotional episode, explained.

But Arizona’s testimony takes an unexpected turn as well when she receives an urgent phone call from April (Sarah Drew). In the middle of her statement, Arizona opts to leave court for something “more important.” According to Sofia’s mother, regardless of who the judge gives custody to, she knows her daughter will be healthy, safe and loved. However, her patient may not survive the night if she doesn’t return to the hospital.

The synopsis for episode 22 reveals that Jenny (Morgan Lily), a pregnant teenager, will be re-admitted to the hospital in the forthcoming installment. And this time, it will be her baby’s life that’s in danger — that is, if Arizona doesn't leave court to treat her patient.
