‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 13 Spoilers: Marika Dominczyk Teases Tough Road Ahead For Dr. Minnick [PHOTOS]
Dr. Minnick was introduced to “Grey’s Anatomy” fans in the early half of Season 13. She immediately began shaking things up and, thus, has made few friends among the cast. In fact, just about everyone at Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital has agreed to try and ice her out.
The administration is pushing back, however, and “Grey’s Anatomy” fans will see things swing Dr. Minnick’s (Marika Dominczyk) way in Season 13, episode 12 of the ABC drama.
Dominczyk teased her character’s fate during a chat with Entertainment Weekly, telling the publication that viewers will see her methods employed in surgeries throughout the episode “100 percent.” Although she and Bailey (Chandra Wilson), who suspended Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) for her refusal to work with Minnick in the episode prior, are over the moon about the changes, the attendings still don’t get it.
“They’re not going to like it,” she said. “It’s going to take a little bit of arm twisting to get there. Not many of them like Eliza.”
Dominczyk’s comments echo the episode synopsis, released by ABC. According to the network episode 12 — titled “It Only Gets Much Worse” — will focus on the chaos caused by Minnick’s new policies. The residents will be thrilled to get their hands dirty, but they’ll find themselves caught in the middle as the attendings try to fight the change.
Additionally, April (Sarah Drew) will have her first day as Chief of General Surgery. She’ll realize just how hard the job really is as the day goes on and she’s faced with challenging cases.
Photos for the episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” suggest viewers will also revisit Owen’s (Kevin McKidd) quest to find Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) and get answers about their marriage. He can be seen talking with Edwards (Jerrika Hinton), who is housing his estranged wife. Another photo shows Edwards looking upset, as she has been throughout much of this drama.
“Grey’s Anatomy” airs Thursday at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
