‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 13 Spoilers: Sneak-Peek Video Teases Leah Murphy’s Return In Episode 6
A once fired doctor will get a second chance at Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital in Season 13, episode 6 of “Grey’s Anatomy.”
Leah Murphy (Tessa Ferrer) was let go in Season 10 because her superiors felt she was unfit to be a surgeon. She’ll take another crack at it in Season 13, returning to the hospital and shaking things up for Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) — whom she was once intimate with. A newly released preview for the ABC drama shows just how much her return will affect the pediatric surgeon, as well as the other doctors in the hospital.
While Arizona complains about how seemingly unfair it is that Dr. Webber (James Pickens Jr.) re-hired Leah without consulting her first, Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Edwards (Jerrika Hinton) relive the many close calls she had during her residency. Leah arrives in the cafeteria just in time to catch the tail end of their conversation about how she “almost brought the hospital down with harassment lawsuits and complaints” because of her sex life, much to the surprise of her former friends.
Photos and a synopsis for the episode, titled “Roar,” suggest that Leah’s return will be a big part of Thursday’s show, but that there will be plenty more going on around the hospital. Alex (Justin Chambers) — who also slept with Leah during her time as a resident — will be confronted by Bailey (Chandra Wilson) once more about his violent confrontation with DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) in the Season 12 finale. Bailey is being pushed by Catherine (Debbie Allen) to make a decision about Alex’s fate. Jackson’s (Jesse Williams) mother doesn’t believe Alex has a place in the hospital anymore, but Bailey’s torn. Alex is currently working shifts in the clinic, which he hates.
Additionally, Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) is still reeling from finding out she and Owen (Kevin McKidd) are not expecting. During episode 6 she’ll be faced with a tough case involving a child and it seems it will deeply impact her professionally and personally. Could it be that her bad day has more to do with the pregnancy news than she’s letting on? Viewers will have to tune in to “Grey’s Anatomy” to find out.
The show airs Thursday at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC. What are you most looking forward to?
