‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 13 Spoilers: Will Owen And Amelia Have A Baby? Caterina Scorsone Shares Thoughts On A Pregnancy
Looks like Owelia’s honeymoon phase is officially over! “Grey’s Anatomy” actress Caterina Scorsone, who portrays Amelia on the hit ABC series, said her character is interested in turning her tiny family of two into a trio.
“I think [Amelia] wants children,” Scorsone said of her character’s post-marriage desires to TVLine. In the Season 12 finale of the medical drama, Amelia got hitched to her on-again-off-again beau Owen (Kevin McKidd) — even if it did take some convincing from her sisters Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Maggie (Kelly McCreary).
Before Amelia walked down the aisle to become Owen’s wife, she experienced cold feet, fearful Owen’s one true love was Cristina (Sandra Oh) — his longtime girlfriend who left for a job in Switzerland during the Season 10 finale. However, Meredith told her twisted sister of the day the idea of a person only having one soul mate was rubbish (even if she believed that theory to be true herself).
At the end of the episode, fans watched as the bride made her way down the aisle to meet her soon-to-be husband. And although fans didn’t get a chance to watch the couple exchange vows, Scorsone assured fans it’s safe to assume the two got married. But could having a child together be the next step for this drama ridden duo? Although Scorsone dished that Amelia is itching to have a “boisterous household,” she revealed that bringing a child into the world might not be so easy for Owelia considering their traumatic pasts.
During Scorsone’s time Shonda Rhimes’ “Grey’s Anatomy” spinoff series “Private Practice,” the actress’ character faced the horrific event of losing her child. “And I’m sure Owen’s got his share of trauma that will make things difficult, too,” the ABC star added. “But I think the intention is that they want to have children.”
