‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 14 Spoilers: When Will Jo’s Husband Return?
Jo is getting the worst Christmas present ever. It looks like her abusive husband Paul will be back on “Grey’s Anatomy” just in time for the holidays.
Set decorator Nicole Cramer uploaded a photo to her Instagram Story and unintentionally revealed the call sheet for Friday’s shoot. The crew member was trying to highlight a funny folder that had a label indicating they should probably throw away the contents. However, when the photo is zoomed in, the call sheet reveals the names of plenty of series regulars as well as Matthew Morrison, who played Jo’s (Camilla Luddington) husband Paul last season. See the photo HERE.
While it isn’t clear if this is Paul’s first appearance, the call sheet is for episode 9. That is right around the time “Grey’s” will go on midseason hiatus. ABC hasn’t announced which episode will be the midseason finale yet, but it’s usually around episode 10.
Morrison already teased his return earlier this year, and it sounds like he’ll be around for a while. He told the Argonaut in August that he has a “big role” on the ABC drama this year.
First introduced last year, Paul is married to Jo, who was then known as Brooke Stadler. Paul is a general surgeon who seems to be doing well in his field, where he focuses on abdominal surgery. His job is part of why Jo kept her name off the paper for Meredith’s abdominal transplant. She knows that he’ll likely come across the groundbreaking surgery, and if he saw her picture, he’d know where his wife was hiding.
As previously reported, Luddington promised that “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14 would explore how the relationship still affects Jo, who recently got back together with Alex (Justin Chambers).
“We will absolutely explore Jo’s story more,” Camilla Luddington told TVLine. “I know that with the domestic violence storyline, we want to show the spectrum of emotional damage that can do to someone — what their triggers may be, how it affects past and future relationships, the details of what she experienced — and hopefully show recovery and healing. It will be very intense to play but I feel honored to be given the opportunity to tackle something so complex.”
“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
