‘Grown-ish’: Zoey Insists She’s Not ‘A Crazy Person’ In Episode 7 Preview
“Grown-ish” has an all-new episode this week, but things are not looking so good for Zoey (Yara Shahidi) who broke up with Cash (da’Vinchi) in last week’s installment of the “Black-ish” spinoff.
Based on the sneak peeks that Freeform published ahead of episode 7, Zoey’s gang of girls have her back this week. The first promo clip shows Ana (Francia Raisa) and the girls entering the room where Zoey is all gloomy and demoralized to even get out of bed.
Upon seeing Zoey’s condition, a deeply concerned Nomi (Emily Arlook) yells, “Zoey, what has happened?” However, Zoey is too sad to even put a smile on her face and she instead lazily waves her right hand to say hi to her friends. When one of the twins asks if Zoey has had the courage to leave the room, the heartbroken teen insisted saying, “Of course I have. I’m not a … crazy person.”
Based on the montage of scenes that are flashed in the clip though, Zoey clearly did not leave the room. She even threw some garbage in the corridors outside of her room while still donning her pajamas. The sneak peek then jumps to a scene wherein Nomi tells Zoey: “We’re taking you out to go dancing and drink irresponsible amounts of liquor. You will feel much better.”
Zoey hesitates even after Nomi threatens her that she would show everyone else the condition of Zoey’s room after her breakup with Cash. “Guys, I’m not really in the mood right now. OK?” Zoey tells her friends. However, she ends up changing her mind when Ana offers to take her back to their room if she’s not feeling it after an hour.
The second sneak peek that Freeform shared shows Ana and the rest of the gang cheering up Zoey by choosing an outfit for her. While the girls are seen rejoicing at the sight of Zoey’s sexy dress, the broken-hearted teen is still having a hard time putting on a smile on her face. Actually, she did smile in the preview but only when the power goes out and she gets the chance to change back to normal clothing. She even takes the power outage as “a sign from God” that she shouldn’t go out.
The synopsis for “Grown-ish” Season 1, episode 7, titled “Un-Break My Heart,” reveals that Zoey decides to stay in for the night due to the power outage. The rest of the girls head out, giving Zoey the “alone time” she needs to confront her true feelings and start the healing process.
“Grown-ish” episode 7 airs Wednesday, Feb. 7, at 8 p.m. EST on Freeform.
