'GTA 5 Online' Heists Update: Will Rockstar Wait Until The Game Launches On PC, Xbox One And PS4 To Release DLC?
July is almost over, and “Grand Theft Auto Online” fans are still waiting for New York City developer Rockstar Games to launch its long-awaited heists DLC, which was promised months ago.
In April, Rockstar launched its High Life update. It told players heists would be available sometime during the spring season.
Heists: Coming this spring to Grand Theft Auto Online, team up with your most trusted Crew members or with random other mercenaries in Grand Theft Auto Online to pull off cooperative Heist Missions for glory and profit. We know many in the GTA Online community have been looking forward to this update — stay tuned for much more information to come.
Spring came and went, and though the developer released more exclusive content for the open-world action game, players still aren’t able to engage in heists, or elaborate story missions, which were first introduced in 2003’s “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.”
Many impatient gamers are concocting theories of their own, wondering if Rockstar will wait until it launches “Grand Theft Auto 5” on the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 near the end of the year to release heist missions. That could be a smart business move since many players would have to upgrade to an eighth-generation console to play heists in “GTA Online.”
YouTube user and “GTA Online” fan Domislive disagrees. He says he believes heists will come to the last generation of consoles since the Xbox 360 and PS3 hold a significant market share in the games industry. He also predicts Rockstar will deliver on its previous promise since a number of beta leaks of heist missions have appeared online.

“Grand Theft Auto V" launched last October for the Xbox 360 and PS3 and is an open-world action game developed by Rockstar North of Scotland and published by Rockstar Games of New York. “GTA V,” which received highly favorable reviews, was the 15th installment in the “GTA” series and the first game since 2008’s “GTA IV.” The Spike Video Game Awards gave the title the Most Anticipated Game award in 2012. The game won the Game of the Year award at the 2013 Golden Joystick Awards. Only three days after its release, IGN listed “GTA V” as second on its list of “Top 25 Xbox 360 Games.”
“GTA Online” is a dynamic open world game for up to 16 players that is accessed through “Grand Theft Auto 5,” though Rockstar considers “GTA 5” and “GTA Online” as separate games.
