“Grand Theft Auto” fans are looking forward to the PC version of “GTA 5,” which will launch sometime during the third or fourth quarter. Players are especially looking forward to playing the open world title on PC for the ability to easily add mods.

Mods are modifications of program code inputted into a game to make it operate in a different way from its original version. Currently, players are creating mods of their own for the Xbox 360 and PS3 version of the action adventure title, but “GTA 5’s” upcoming PC version will make modding the game even easier.

YouTube user Chr0m3XMoDz recently created a zombie mode for the game. While zombie mods have been created before in “GTA 5,” this one looks especially fun. Maybe Take-Two Interactive Inc.'s (NASDAQ: TTWO) Rockstar Games will add a zombie mode to the upcoming PC version of “GTA 5.”

New York City-based developer Rockstar assured fans that the game's next-gen and PC release will be worth the wait. Besides mods, the updated versions will allow players to see the game's fictional city of Los Santos in a whole new way.

“'Grand Theft Auto V’ will take full advantage of the power of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC with across-the-board graphical and technical improvements to deliver a stunning new level of detail,” the developer said on the Rockstar Newsire in June. “Increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic, and enhanced resolutions all work together to bring new life to the cities, towns, deserts and oceans of Rockstar North’s epic reimagining of Southern California.”
