The highly anticipated film “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is nearing its final stage of filming. Latest news indicates that Chris Pratt has finished filming activities, while showrunner James Gunn teased plans for the upcoming 2016 Comic Con.

Director Gunn shared the news in a video posted on his Facebook account where he announced that Pratt has wrapped up filming for “Guardians of the Galaxy 2,” MovieWeb reported. Pratt portrays the character Star Lord Peter Quill in the film. The movie’s showrunner also described the actor as a “close friend” whom he has known for close to four years. “And we've been through a long, long journey together,” Gunn added.

The Hollywood actor also gave a special message to the crew members of the “Guardians of the Galaxy” sequel. Pratt praised them for being “hardworking” and applauded the crew for their skills and talents. He even called the film’s crew as the “best in the business” which he explained was why they were a part of the movie. “And if anyone doesn't believe, if you don't believe it, just give it a year and wait for this movie to come out, and you'll see,” he stated.

Pratt also thanked Gunn for his hard work while filming “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.” He complimented the director for efficiently managing the 90-day shooting time, including the film’s budget. “Nobody ever does that. And it's due to preparation,” the actor shared.

Apart from officially announcing the end of Pratt’s filming activities for the sequel, Gunn also confirmed that “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” will be heading to the upcoming San Diego Comic Con. The director even teased that Pratt, as well other cast members, will be making an appearance at the annual convention. “We’re going to show you guys something pretty cool,” Gunn promised.

Meanwhile, other cast members of the film have also wrapped up filming for the upcoming movie. Both Dave Bautista and Zoe Saldana also completed filming their respective scenes for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” ComicBook.com reported. Bautista portrays Drax while Saldana plays Gamora. Both characters are part of Pratt’s character’s team in the movie.

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” will hit movie theaters on May 5, 2017. On the other hand, the 2016 Comic Con will be held at the San Diego Convention Center from July 21 until July 24.
