‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’ Has More Post-Credits Scenes Than Any Other Marvel Movie
Post-credits scenes are a highly anticipated part of any Marvel movie, and it seems “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” director James Gunn feels the same way. He confirmed that not only is there a post-credits scene, but there are several sequences to watch out for.
Gunn confirmed the post-credits scene count when an outlet reported that there were four of them. Gunn corrected them, revealing that fans can expect five different scenes.
Typically, Marvel movies these days have a mid-credits scenes and a post-credits scene. Sometimes there’s just one, as with “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” However, this is the first time a film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) will have that much to watch after the credits start.
Gunn previously warned fans that they should stay until the very end. “All I’ll say is, unless you have to rush out because your mother is dying, stay through the entire end credits,” he tweeted last month when a fan asked about post-credits scenes.

Though critics have started viewing “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” for reviews, they will not be allowed to reveal what’s in the end-credits scenes until the action flick hits theaters. In the first flick, Gunn kept the sequences light with the memorable dancing Baby Groot scene and a glimpse of Howard the Duck with the Collector.
After fan see the movie, the question will be about if Gunn will outdo himself next time. He announced Monday that he’ll return to write and direct “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.” He revealed that the story will take place after “Avengers: Infinity War,” meaning it’ll be in Phase 4 of the MCU.
“It will conclude the story of this iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and help catapult both old and new Marvel characters into the next ten years and beyond,” Gunn wrote on Facebook.
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” will be released May 5.
