James Gunn has confirmed that actor Will Poulter will soon be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The director said Poulter will portray superhero Adam Warlock in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3."

"As you guys know I often strike down false rumors, so… um…Welcome to the Guardians family, Will Poulter," the 55-year-old director wrote on Twitter. "He's an amazing actor and wonderful guy. See you in a couple weeks."

Soon after the director confirmed the news, fans flooded the comment section with positive reactions.

One person wrote, "A+ casting, James. This dude is the real deal." The director replied to it saying, "He really is something incredible."

Actor Clark Gregg commented, "FINALLY!!!! (squeeeeee)." Gunn replied to the tweet with a raising hands emoji.

"I have never liked Adam Warlock and I was lazy to see him in the MCU, to be honest, but with this incredible cast (and your wonderful direction) now I am totally excited. hype!!" another Twitter user noted.

The 28-year-old actor is currently filming a TV series, "Why Didn't They Ask Evans?" which is based on Agatha Christie's novel of the same name. He will also feature in another TV series, "Dopesick," which will air on Hulu from this Wednesday.

Poulter will be part of a British thriller movie, "The Score," which is directed by Malachi Smyth. The movie also stars Johnny Flynn, Naomi Ackie and Lydia Wilson.

He made his debut with Garth Jennings' "Son of Rambow," which was released in 2007. He went on to work in movies like "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" and "Wild Bill."

However, most people recognize him for his role in the 2013 crime comedy "We're the Millers," which was directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber.

Gunn announced the release date and dropped the logo of the hotly anticipated Marvel movie earlier this year.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" is currently under pre-production and is slated to release on May 5, 2023. The movie also stars Dave Bautista, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Zoe Saldana and Bradley Cooper.
