Gwen Stefani Doesn’t Think Blake Shelton Wedding Is A Priority, Respects Her Religion
KEY POINTS
- Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are talking about marriage.
- Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale's annulment hasn't been finalized.
- Gwen Stefani wants her wedding to take place in a church.
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have been dating for years, and there are rumors that a wedding is looming in the horizon.
But sources recently said that this may not necessarily be the case. While speaking with People, the source said that Shelton thought about proposing to Stefani early on because he’s always been serious about her and their relationship.
However, the “Voice” coach also needs to take Stefani’s religion into consideration. The No Doubt singer is a Roman Catholic, which means that she cannot tie the knot until her marriage to Gavin Rossdale has been annulled.
In July, Radar Online claimed that Rossdale refused to annul his ex-wife in an attempt to block her possible marriage to Shelton. An unnamed source said at that time that Stefani’s worst nightmare is coming true.
“The church cannot condone a marriage after a divorce — unless the marriage isn’t recognized in the first place, and Gavin refuses to say their marriage never existed,” the source said.
However, it would be best to take this claim with a grain of salt. Even though the former couple had a tumultuous separation, they have maintained an amicable relationship with each other for the sake of their three children.
Meanwhile, another source told Entertainment Tonight that Stefani and Shelton have been very respectful of the “Hollaback Girl” singer’s religion and faith so they aren’t rushing anything.
"A wedding hasn’t been a priority, but when it becomes important, they will take the steps they need to do it properly through the eyes of the Church. It will take time but they will follow the steps and make it happen. They make all their important life decisions together, talking throughout the day whenever they are apart.,” the source said.
The insider went on to say that Shelton and Stefani both know that they are perfect for each other. And their friends and family are certain that they will eventually end up together.
