Gwyneth Paltrow Net Worth: 'The Goop Lab' Host's Finances Before Netflix Premiere
On Jan. 24, Gwyneth Paltrow's new Netflix series, "The Goop Lab," will begin streaming. The new show is set to "look at psychedelics, energy work and other challenging wellness topics," as stated in the description. However, the "Iron Man" actress has explored a variety of other projects leading up to the new show. How much has she earned due to her past efforts?
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Paltrow is worth $100 million. Per the outlet, her first big-screen debut came in 1991 when she starred as Rebecca in "Shout." There, she appeared alongside John Travolta, Heather Graham, and others. Soon after, she would act in Steven Spielberg's "Hook," "Se7en," and "Emma." She also entered the world of comedy with 2001's "Shallow Hal," which also starred Jack Black and Jason Alexander, and Wes Andersons' "The Royal Tenenbaums" in 2001.
However, 1999 proved to be a pivotal year for the actress as that was the year that she won a Best Actress in a Leading Role Oscar, along with a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild award, for her part as Viola de Lesseps in "Shakespeare in Love."
In addition to the aforementioned roles, she also appeared as Pepper Potts in the "Iron Man" franchise, which included installments in 2008, 2010, and 2013. That character also carried over into entries in "The Avengers" series, which saw films released in 2012, 2018, and 2019, and "Spider-Man: Homecoming" in 2017. She has also appeared in TV shows with roles on "Glee" and Netflix's "The Politician," both co-created by her now-husband Brad Falchuk.
Aside from her acting, Paltrow also founded Goop, her lifestyle brand, in 2008. Initially, it began as a newsletter, but would soon branch out into "a website, a print magazine, a podcast, and pop-up shops," per Celebrity Net Worth. Additionally, she has also authored several cookbooks, worked as a spokesperson for Estee Lauder fragrances, and appeared in the 2008 PBS documentary, "Spain…On the Road Again."
As for how she has spent her money over the years, it has been stated that she once lived in an expensive Tribeca penthouse with her now ex-husband, Coldplay singer Chris Martin. After their "conscious uncoupling," the one-time couple placed it on the market and sold it in 2017 for $10.73 million, as reported by the Observer. It was also revealed by InStyle that in 2016 she purchased a $4.9 million residence in Santa Barbara.
"The Goop Lab" will begin streaming on Netflix on Jan. 24.
